September 25 - Technology and Futurology: The view from 1970

This talk by David Worsley discusses the ideas of two thinkers whose careers were significantly enhanced by books predicting the impact of technological change on future society that they published in 1970.
The first is Alvin Toffler (with his popular bestseller “Future Shock”) and the second, Zbigniew Brzezinski (with the more academic “Between Two Ages”). The talk will examine what they got right, where they went wrong and how their predictions align with the prophecies previously published by Aldous Huxley, H.G. Wells, George Orwell and Isaac Asimov.
